An entire summer of fun from Friday 22nd July
Our Summer Holiday Fun sessions will be running for the whole of the summer, from Friday 22nd July onwards.
If you’ve never been to Boulder Shack before, it’s a great chance for the kids to try out our climbing walls and learn a new skill!
Kid-friendly taster sessions: Monday 15th – Friday 19th August, 12pm – 1pm
Book the kids onto a fun-filled taster session, running from Monday 15th to Friday 19th August from 12pm-1pm.
This 60-minute taster session is fully supervised by one of our friendly staff, who will set the children lots of sea-themed climbing challenges to try.
The sessions are £12 for juniors and climbing shoes will be provided. We recommend wearing comfy clothes and bringing a bottle of water.
You can either drop the kids off and come back later, or grab a coffee and chill out in our relaxed café area.
Induction for adults or all the family
If you’re not one to miss out on the fun, you can get involved by booking onto our 45-minute coached induction session (supervision ratios apply).
You can stay and climb for as long as you like afterwards, or get yourselves a well-deserved treat from the café.
Entry fee includes shoe hire. Sessions are £14 for an adult, £9.50 for under 18s and supervising adults are free!
There are sessions you can book on to every day over the summer, and once you’ve completed your Induction, you can all come back and climb independently anytime. That’s the rest of the summer sorted!
Free entry to our ‘Under the Sea Party’: Saturday 20th August, 12-7pm
The week of taster sessions will finish with a bang, with our Under the Sea Party on Saturday 20th August, from 12pm to 7pm!
Live music
We’ll be showcasing the best of nautical live music, with musicians popping up around the centre, sea shanties from Salty Sea Dogs Choir and a fantastic vinyl DJ set from The Dandy Rifles, with a fun eclectic mix of new-wave, indie, reggae, 60s and garage rock.
Crafting session
We can’t wait for All Aboard Festival to come in and run a Jellyfish crafting session, it will be a great chance for all ages to get creative using reclaimed and recycled materials!
The session will run from 12pm-4pm.
Pop ups
Southampton Water Activities Centre (SWAC) will be sharing how you can get on the water here in Southampton.
We’ll also have sea-themed treats from the cafe, games and much more!

Junior climbing clubs
If your child would like the opportunity to climb regularly, we also run a fun Junior Climbing Club on weekday evenings and weekend mornings during term time.
Our experienced instructors support each junior climber’s individual goals and create activities to bring the group together in a fun, sociable and safe environment.
Junior climbers work through NIBAS (National Indoor Bouldering Achievement Scheme) to Level 3, to help manage their progression and development. This is also the standard requirement to climb at any other climbing wall in the UK during public time.
The club is booked on a termly basis at £10 per session for ages 5-12 and at £12.50 for 13-17 year olds.
